P3-7 visited Knockan Crag today with Mrs Curley and Dr Laura Hamlet. We are learning about tourism and our local environment this term. Today we learnt about the geology of our area and why our rocks make our landscape look the way it does. We discovered why Durness, Scourie, Inchnadamph and Elphin are so green, but the parts in between are heathery and brown. We also learnt about why you can see old rock lying on top of young rock at Knockan Crag and why this has made the north-west Highlands a tourist destination for geologists.
